Known
for its charm and hospitality, Picayune, Mississippi
rests just 40 miles north of the historic and flavorful
city of New Orleans. In the very heart of this quaint
southern community sits one of its founding residents—LaBelle!!
Constructed in 1904 (the same year Picayune received
its charter), LaBelle stands as a beautiful example
of turn of the century architecture. She embraces
12' ceilings, a 12' main hallway hosting three large
bedrooms, a formal dining room, four fireplaces and
8' windows.
Little is known about the original owners however;
historic records show that the home was used as a
private residence, boarding house and even offered
brunch to Sunday worshippers from the near by churches.
Keeping with her boarding house roots of comfort and
hospitality, Penny and Lyndon Glaesman have opened
LaBelle's; Picayune's first and only Bed and Breakfast!
So, whether you are coming to Picayune to shop for
antiques, take a swamp tour, party in New Orleans
or just find some peace and quiet; Labelle invites
you to come and experience her charm.
